Tigaad is a non-profit organization, which operates in Somalia. The name Tigaad means to envisage for rebuilding of Somalia socially, politically and economically.
The consent of the civil organizations is carried out by elected board of directors that comprise of 15 directors of which six directors serve an officer; the president, the vice presidents, a secretary, and a treasurer. The board meets regularly each month to plan, direct and implement the year activities.
Several committees have been formed to coordinate, regulate and direct to the activities of the civil society organizations (SCO). These committees empowers the members, the government relationship, human rights activists, democratic advocators, civil societies, private media, press and public at large, and to train and educate democratic based society.
The final goal is to strengthen the capacity and link together the various civil societies such community leaders, business associations, media, labor unions and the trading organizations in Somalia. This will eventually nourish the nation building that respects human rights, denounce violence and democratic values.
Also, to complete to its educational actions, Tigaad contributes to the rehabilitation of war-torn communities and demolished educational infrastructures in sharing with community leader's particular women groups, traditional leaders, and democratic activist to strengthen their capacity
Mission and Vision:
- To train civil society organizations (CSO) and encourage them by adopting a right strategies to restore and improve democratic values nationwide.
- To provide workshops addressed for building capacity of media, press, local politicians and distract leaders to expand their role ofbuilding intuitions in a market economy and private sectors development.
- To assist civil society organizations (CSO) to regulate acting bill to the members of parliamentarians and the regional leadership and members of Somalia main political parties.
- To set on emphasis on good governance, corporate citizenship, and the role of business in infighting corruption has provided new opportunities.
- To train and assist the staff of the Secretary of Commerce, trade unions and business associations to establish economic platforms and inform them the challenges facing the private sector.
